After three days we continue our journey again with the T-Ford, but before we go, we visit a village of the Konso tribe near our hotel. A nice village with narrow alleys and small huts which is about 600 year old. The villagers keep track of this by planting a tree every 18 year as a kind of calendar. A funny ritual is one where the young men have to pick up a heavy stone and throw this over their right shoulder to prove that they are strong enough to get married, and of course we have to try this as well. After this visit we really get going, we have to ride 100km over a tough road. Underway something terrible happens; right in front of our eyes a fully loaded truck passing us by, loses control and crashes, fortunately the to men in the truck climb out of the totally destroyed cabin with only a few scratches. Trudy assists them with first aid and when a bus passed by we decided to leave. It could have been much worse if the truck had crashed in the T-Ford or the Land Rover!<\/p>\n
