A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour,about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

    After we packed the cars we went to the Dutch embassy in Khartoum where we were invited by Max en Peter who we met the night before for a cup of coffee.

    Today the plan was to travel from Khartoum to Wad Madani, again we followed the Blue Nile passing beautiful villages.

    In Wad Madani we were supposed to meet mister. Mohammed Idris of Al jazira Motorsport, Dirk knew him through Mahmoud Ezzeldin of  Vintage Wheels. Till our surprise there where many people awaiting us including the minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Alsherif Alamin Alhindi and a general. After Dirk explains the technical details of a Model T Ford,

      It was a great honor to meet up with the T ford team, we had a very pleasant time with you all and we hope to meet you more and more.. looking forward to your next visit to Sudan, Wad Madani however we want you to come in an air plane so as to spend more time with us.
