A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Buy your miles and thus contribute to a better future for orphans.

    Thursday June 5

In the morning we upgraded the website. At half past 10 we went to Almagrario to pick up the cars. And this time we succeeded!

Unfortunately, Floor was not allowed to join the unloading of the cars, because he was wearing shorts… right after we got the cars, we drove to the old city, to make some nice pictures and videos.

After that, we drove to castello San Felipe. Of course, we had to make a picture of the Ford in front of the castle.

In the mean time, Rodolfo brought a flyer to the well known newspaper El Universal.

The drive back home was a bit chaotic.

In the evening, Dirk and Trudy gave a presentation about their world tour in another SOS-house, where many children were brought together.

They were very interested in the cars.

Finally, everything was good, and we ended the night with dinner with Rodolfo and Yocabet.

      Take care!
