A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Buy your miles and thus contribute to a better future for orphans.

    Repentance

    Marijke:

Traveling together with Dirk, Trudy and the Model T, a unique trio, right through Mongolia and then through the Russian Altay Mountains to Kazakhstan left an indelible impression for me. Every day was an adventure. What did I enjoy.

I was able to experience the country and its residents intensely through this way of traveling. Through the stories of Oko I gained more insight into the culture and history of Mongolia.

Visiting the two children’s projects also touched me deeply. With a lot of passion and love, work has been done on the realization of these wonderful projects. By means of the sponsor money, a better future for the children here is really contributing here.

    Nico:

This was a very nice experience to experience, a wide variety of landscapes and beautiful contacts with the locals.

It was an experience to be allowed to ride with the Landrover on diverse terrain, which sometimes was not easy and then the Model T came after it like a mountain goat. Hats off for Dirk, that he knows how to manage and maintain the Model T so cleverly. I thought it was nice to have been able to help with some repairs.

Trudy also has great talents to put meals on the table in the middle of the desert every day. And she is also a star in asking the road in countries, of which she does not speak.

We wish the follow teams who come after us a lot of travel pleasure together with Trudy and Dirk.

    Good trip, good road!
