A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Buy your miles and thus contribute to a better future for orphans.

    Report November 11th.
    Edit by Dirk.

Today we bring a visit to the Coker Tires Company in Chattanooga.
Coker Tires is the number one supplier of tires for classic cars in the world.
And they put our Model T on rubber during our world tour.
When we enter the office our names are on the notice board at the reception

We were warmly welcomed by the owner of the company; Corky Coker.

Trudy saw a nice house trailer, but Dirk told her that the Model T cannot climb steep hills while towing this.

Corky Coker has also a beautiful collection of classic motor cycles.
It looks like they are standing in a show-case.

Unfortunately there is no Model T in the collection, but Dirk knows how to solve this.

Very soon Corky Coker will start his own television program about barn finds.
Some of them are in his garage.

They also have their own restoration workshop; make rims and wooden spokes for all kinds of classic cars.
