A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Buy your miles and thus contribute to a better future for orphans.

We leave early from our hotel because we have to drive 140 miles to the first opportunity to weld the broken axle.

After 14 miles we arrive at noon in the village of Gobernador Gregores.
We pass a workshop of a road construction company and ask if they can repair the axle.
No problem and they push the car into the workshop.

They helped us very good and after two hours of repairing we say good bye to the boys of the workshop and we can continue our trip.

The asphalt stops again and we drive on a road under construction with big stones and gravel.
At 5 PM we pass a sign of camping and hotel “La Siberia” near the Lago Cardiel.
We decide to stop here and spend the night here.
They can also make diner for us but that will take more than 3 hours.
Arnaud and Dirk make a walking through the mountains to see the lake and Angela and Marjolein are making reports for the website.
A relaxed end of a day of repairing and driving 200 miles.

    Bajo Caracoles-La Siberia 317 km.
