Today we continue our way for St Louis, we hope to arrive in the afternoon.

After ours of driving we arrive in St Louis, were on our way to Hyman classic cars.

We where very glad they welcomed us at Hymen, they took good care for us.

They also put us in a very good hotel.

After we where checkt in Dick Lodge came along to welcome us to St Louis.

Yesterday we drove through Chicago, not something you do in a couple of minutes.

We found a campsite just under Chicago in Joliet.

During our breakfast a man shows up and told us he had seen the model T before in St Antonio Texas.

Dirk is preparing the model T and then we hit the road again.

We continue our way on the historic route 66.

While we where driving a car club past by.

The club stopt and waited for us, we also stop to say hello.

The people are very interested in the cars and our journey.

Just before leaving the campsite a man told us that there is a classic car museum near by with a model T and model A garage. So we first go to that museum.

After the museum we continue our trip to the centre of Chicago.
We reach the magic account of 40.000 km or 25.000 miles during our world tour.

Because the fuel tank of the Land Rover is almost empty and we cannot find a fuel station with diesel, we use our spare fuel.

Suddenly the sky line of Chicago appears.

To leave the city we take the High way.

It is hot and we drive rather fast, so the Model T needs his extra fan.

And then, the Historical Route 66. Up to St. Louis

After a fun night we continue our trip to Chicago and say goodbye to Bill.

The route we are driving is very nice, we come across a lot of towns and lakes.

Its time to find a campsite again, something that’s getting harder now we get closer to the bigger cities. But we found one and we also got some fire wood.

We all got a good night of sleep and full of energy again Chicago isn’t far.
Today we are driving in to another state Illinois here we come!

After a couple of ours we are driving in the outer area of Chicago.
While we where waiting for a stop sign we where hit from the back.
The landrover has no damage, but the pickup truck that hit us was not that lucky.
But like the man said “it’s just a company car”

We arrived at our new campsite in the north of Chicago.
Dirk decided to take the old alternator apart to see what’s broken.

Today we went on an investigation, and we found out that the alternator was broken.
We mounted our spare alternator and the T-ford was running again.

Unfortunately we didn’t had the right paper seals with us,
But we have Dirk so we can make our own.

The model T is running and we’re on the road again.
It’s a beautiful route with high hills and tight corners.
While we we’re having a break a big eagle flew over a beautiful bird.

We arrived at our new campsite, we made a great fire and bill ( the camp host ) came over with some cold beers to celebrate his birthday.

Today we are continuing our way for Chicago.
The first city we come across is Duluth.
