A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Buy your miles and thus contribute to a better future for orphans.

    july 24 – day 33

Posted on 24 July 2012 by Michiel

The day of patience, waiting and not succeeding

Today we’ll leave Akaba by ferry to Nuweiba (Egypt). The first ferry is full, so we’ve wait three hours till the next ferry arrived.
Another three hours later thousands of man in long dresses and woman in burqa’s have left the boat.
We may enter the ferry and we arrive in Nuweiba (Egypt) at 19.15.
Dirk and our guide Mohammed try to fix the permission for the cars to pass the customs.
Six hours later the authority’s do’nt except the Carnet the Passage from the German Automobile Club.

We are very angry and dissapointed and we left the cars on the terrain of the customs.

We will try tomorrow to pass the customs with the cars and otherwise we do’nt know…….

      Groet,
      Luuk Cazemier, Edam
