A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Buy your miles and thus contribute to a better future for orphans.

After breakfast in the room we continue towards Dushanbe. In daylight we take another photo of the ‘hole’ of the lost bridge last night.

We have several diversions through the mud slides again, and therefore many beautiful steep parts! With smooth and blubbery clay, beautiful man!

Rinsing shoes from yesterday along the way, a lot of attention from children!

We hear a tapping sound, and we see that the exhaust is bent due to yesterday’s work. We use a tension strap to pull the exhaust to one side, and it runs completely free again.

After about half the ride, the road becomes asphalt again and we ‘blast’ towards Dushanbe, going at a speed of 85 km per hour!! We are not used to that anymore!

We arrive at the hotel at 3:00 PM.
Tom and Tim also ‘flew in’ here this morning, unfortunately without suitcases

We’ll have a drink and toast to a successful tour through the Pamir!
    What a trip, really beautiful!!

    A total of 175,000 potholes, 400km washboard, 12,560 bumps, 6509 holes, 8 washed-out bridges, 5 mud slides, and 1675km driven in 14 days, mega!

Greetings and enjoy reading the next follow-up team,

    We loved it
