A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

    REAR AXLE

Sunday, no Sunday afternoon ride for us yet. After breakfast, Ton and Dirk go straight to the workshop to complete the Model T in good spirits, not yet really rested.

When I arrived later they showed that the rear wheel hub was also badly damaged. It had to be repaired first and then the wheel could be put together.

Everything secured and a lot of cleaning up.

It will be ready Monday morning. The wheels roll well for the first part. We say goodbye and thank you for the place and the help.

We have worked very hard. We can move on. Exciting first kilometres and then checking.
Okay, off we go through the mountains with Tim and Ton as a team. We’re going to enjoy ourselves again.

Hello guys, it is something incredible. We met Derik on 17.07.2024 at one of Atyrau streets; we tried to take some pictures while they were going on the road. Then we saw they stopped at the gasoline station and surely we decided to stop and talk to them. I made a few pictures, and talked. I was really impressed by how it is possible to travel so long distances in such an old car. Very impressive and motivated people. With passion and enthusiasm.
