A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

    Last days in Mongolia

We stay in a hotel in Olgii for a few days to prepare for the trip through Russia. We clean the cars and tidy up. Collect the appropriate papers and buy rubles.

Oko gets into the Model T and Trudy gets into the Landrover. We have only just started and are offered a bottle of vodka by a Mongolian sportsman.

We take the last mountain in Mongolia. The road is cut into the rock and not paved. So off-road for a while.

We have a picnic along the Tsaganuur. A large lake with salt along the water, resembling ice.

We manage to capture a vulture in the photo.

We set up camp near the border crossing. It is our last evening with our guide Oko. We eat stew, drink a glass of vodka, sing Mongolian songs, reminisce. It is a warm and moving evening.

Dirk’s wish to go to the projects in Mongolia has been realized. Trudy honors Dirk with a sash for his successful mission.

Hi Oko, nice to see you again on the photo’s and read about your adventures.
You’re not only a guide, but also became a T-ford driver?
Nice photo together with Trudy and Dirk, who succeeded to do what they wanted to do in Mongolië
      Greetings from Tiny
