A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Buy your miles and thus contribute to a better future for orphans.

    Report 23 June

Posted on 23 June 2024 by DirkJan

    By DJ and Danny

    We had a nice breakfast

Slept well last night, we continue driving along the beautiful asphalt road along the river, on the other side is Afghanistan, quite a strange idea, many military patrols and ‘fox holes’

Dirk does stretching exercises for his back under the guidance of Danny.

He will become super flexible at the age of 72!

After a large junction, the asphalt ends and we enter the gravel, occasionally a ‘single track’ over which large trucks also go, tricky…
We end up in Tor, in a Truckers Motel, with a swimming pool with frogs in it, the lighting is on batteries and a super filthy shit house, the bed is ok, although there are a lot of flies… damn what a luxury, it can only get better …

    Drove 191km, continue tomorrow!
