A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

    Camping in the Gobi Desert.

Last night we set up camp for the first time. We are already enjoying the 2 small tents we brought with us, they are positioned like this. And look what a beautiful place. We have all the space.

Look, we see a print of a camel’s leg. I think he has flat feet.

Last night Marijke crawled out of her tent with her headlamp on. She was able to turn it off immediately because the moon gave so much light that the headlamp was not necessary. The starry sky stretched from horizon to horizon. After a hot breakfast of rice and tofu that Nico has cooked, we pack up and head back to the pipeline.

We found it, had a drink and started looking for the hole after about 200 kilometres of pipe.

The landscape is changing, there are more livestock and it is already becoming a bit green.

This road is much better for us in the T-Ford. It doesn’t bump that much. The distance we travel per day shows that the main road cannot be compared to the roads in the Netherlands. But yes, we are also in the desert.

A motorcyclist comes from the country.

Oko asks if we are driving on the right main road. Fortunately, that is the case. After a photo session we continue and then after a ride of 105 km Bayandelger appears on the horizo
