A charity tour for orphan children

Trudy and Dirk Regter from the Netherlands go on a world tour in a 1915 Ford Model T, covering all continents of the world. They are making this trip with the aim of raising money for orphans worldwide.

To date, they have driven 64,000 miles across 31 countries and have raised more than $45,000 spent on children's projects in Colombia and Bolivia. An earlier trip by Dirk in 2007 from Beijing to Paris in the Model T raised more than $140,000, of which 2 children's projects were built in Mongolia. The last part of their world tour, about 10,500 miles, takes them back home to the Netherlands via Asia. If you support the purpose of this journey, you can take ownership of some of these 10,500 miles of this final leg.

Waterfall (Georgia) – Campsite near Hopa (Turkey)

    By Arnaud and Roos

We have breakfast at the waterfall. The lizards crawl over the rocks between the streams of water.

Today our goal is to cross the border from Georgia to Turkey at the town of Sapi .

Another beautiful route along the river, through charming villages and of course cows on the road.

    We enjoyed Georgia so much!!

Fantastic nature, mountains, rivers, views, a million mountain bends and delicious food!!!

Arriving at the border, Trudy takes the wheel of the Land Rover and drives out of Georgia behind Dirk and the T-Ford.

As passengers, we have to pass through both borders and customs checks on foot. We are certainly not the only ones today. What a crowd!!! A completely different experience than the border between Azerbaijan and Georgia, where the 4 of us were the only passers-by (except for the line of trucks)

Despite the large number of people, things go quite smoothly and we arrive in Turkey with two fresh stamps in our passports.

Dirk and Trudy have to be a little more patient with the cars and papers.

In the meantime, we have found a nice stopping place where we drink a coke, play a game of bullying and eat our first delicious Turkish meal.

Finally, after about an hour and a half, they pass through the gates of Turkey without many problems and fortunately the Land-Rover did not have to be emptied and they did not need the packing list that is on a USB stick somewhere under all the camping gear…

We have an extra hour today, because Turkey is in a different time zone 😃

There is a campsite 10 km from the border and we decide to set up camp here on the Black Sea
